Jonathan Geen

Professional Background

Jonathan was educated at Oxford University and the College of Law in York.  He trained and qualified as a solicitor with Clifford Chance in London, where he spent five years.  He then joined Capital Law in Cardiff becoming a partner and head of their property department.  Jonathan joined M&A in 2005.

Area of Practice

Jonathan is a commercial property specialist regularly advising on the acquisition, disposal, letting and funding of commercial properties.  He also has considerable experience of property joint ventures through corporate and limited partnership vehicles.

Jonathan is recognised as "Leader in the Field" for commercial property by Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners.  He was recently voted "Wales Property Lawyer of the Year" at the inaugural Wales People in Property Awards.

Jonathan has acted on a number of the largest property transactions in South Wales in recent years for both private and public sector clients across the industrial, office, retail and residential sectors of the property market including: the NCM Building; the National Assembly for Wales; St William House Cardiff; Cardiff Arms Park; Holland House Hotel; Cardiff Bay; The Old Brewery Quarter Cardiff and the Penarth Heights residential scheme.

Jonathan also has experience of industrial land acquisition, management and the sale of land and relocation of going concern businesses.
