Despite being smaller than many of its competitors, the property team has emerged in recent years as pre-eminent among Welsh law firms for its property expertise and commercial, user-friendly advice. This is backed up by its recent ranking in the Legal 500 UK as being in the top tier of law firms for property work.
The team provides the full range of commercial property services including acquisitions and disposals, leasing, development, funding and joint ventures. It also has a great deal of expertise in handling transactions where there is significant overlap with the corporate department and in tax saving schemes.
We also have lawyers who are well-versed in construction, planning, urban regeneration, compulsory purchase and property litigation matters.
Our Recent Transactions and Deals page illustrates the strength and depth of the team which has grown rapidly in response to client demands but which is heavily dominated by partners and senior staff who retain a very hands-on approach.
We aim to offer a City standard of service but at significantly lower rates. As part of our commercial approach we are willing to structure fees in a way which can suit a particular client requirement, for example fixed fees, hourly rates, contingency fees and success-oriented fees.
The department is also willing to become involved at very early stages of transactions and will often undertake an element of legal “project management” to ensure clients have access to the best planning, construction and tax advice to ensure that their property projects have the maximum prospects of success.
