We aim to apply this experience and expertise for the benefit of our clients by ensuring the optimum legal structures and procedures are adopted. This includes advising on employee terms and conditions and incentive plans, making sure that the correct intellectual property protections are implemented and drafting proper terms and conditions for our clients' businesses.

We recognise that in the cut and thrust of business there is often pressure on companies to conclude deals with customers and suppliers in very tight time frames. We are sensitive to this and are always on hand to give guidance to clients on legal terms. We can supply pro forma commercial contracts and can also take a lead role in negotiations on important commercial contracts.

We have experience of leading negotiations on extremely high value and long term contracts (frequently with contract values of over £100 million). In such circumstances the contract managers of our client companies benefit from our specialist expertise.

In particular, our commercial team has considerable experience in the field of PFI / PPP transactions across a range of sectors, including health, education, waste, infrastructure, residential care, police authority, fire authority and central government.  Members of our team have acted on both the public and the private sector side of transactions ranging from £5 million to £500 million and with the major financial, legal and technical advisers in each sector.  We have experience of many forms of procurement, including negotiated procedure, competititve dialogue and procurements which involve the provision of works or services to more than one local authority, district or borough council.  We also have experience of projects involving a variety of funding structures, including the use of Prudential Funds as the only or main source of project finance.

The scope of our contractual advice extends beyond the United Kingdom. We are able to advise our clients on international assignments, whether it be a joint venture in Taiwan or a long term agreement with a United States distributor. We are used to taking a lead role and working with local lawyers to ensure that legal issues are properly dealt with on international projects.

In short, we pride ourselves on being more than legal draughtsmen. We are experienced and skilled negotiators and are confident that as a result of this expertise we can add real value to clients on commercial projects and negotiations.
