Two solicitors switch firms to join M&A Solicitors' commercial projects team
Cardiff law firm M&A Solicitors has expanded its commercial projects team in Cardiff with two key appointments.
Deryn Rees joins as a partner from Eversheds with 10 years' experience in commercial projects involving private finance initiative/public private partnerships (PFI/PPP).
She covers sectors including health, waste, police, fire, education, infrastructure and defence.
Ms Rees who advised on the completion of a £30m waste disposal contract this month, is currently advising on a £100m waste contract involving an innovative mix of Prudential Funding and external finance.
She said, "I am delighted to be joining a very talented team of lawyers at M&A Solicitors and I'm looking forward to helping develop the firm's commercial projects portfolio."
She is joined by associate solicitor Claudia Le Gros, also formerly of Eversheds and with four years' commercial property experience on PFI/PPP and a significant range of other property transactions. Her clients include Neath Port Talbot council, working alongside partners Eric Evans and Rachelle Sellek on a competitive dialogue procurement, and West Sussex council, working alongside Deryn.
Ms Le Gros previously advised an English local authority on all property aspects of a multi-sited £25m waste handling and recycling scheme with a £0.5bn revenue waste stream.
M&A Solicitors' commercial projects team, which boasts three projects partners, is headed by Eric Evans. He said, "We are delighted with the success of our newly established commercial projects division and the addition of Deryn and Claudia to the team will be instrumental in growing our portfolio. I am very excited about the future of the department."
